Mahesh Manjrekar is Vikram’s villain in ‘Garuda’
Popular Bollywood actor-filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar, who was seen in Ajith’s ‘Arrambam’, will be the main antagonist in ‘Garuda’, a film starring Vikram in the lead role. It is being directed by Thiru of ‘Samar’ fame. Kajal Aggarwal is reportedly playing the female lead role in this movie.

Says the director, “I thought that Mahesh would fit the bill aptly and am happy that he accepted my offer. He is coming to Chennai soon to shoot for the movie.”

It is learnt that a stunt scene involving Vikram and Mahesh Manjrekar would be shot at a grand set erected near Sriperumbudur by art director Maya Pandi of ‘Kanithan’ fame.

Mahesh Manjrekar is a director, actor, writer and producer. He is credited with directing the critically acclaimed films ‘Vaastav: The Reality’ (1999), ‘Astitva’ (2000) and ‘Viruddh… Family Comes First’ (2005).

He has won a National Film Award and two Star Screen Awards. Besides direction, he has acted in several films, including some of his own productions. He first gained acclaim as an actor for his performance in the 2002 film ‘Kaante’, and later played negative roles in the Telugu film ‘Okkadunnadu’ (2007) and as the gangster Javed in the film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ (2008)
