Vijay has expressed gratitude to his fans for the way they received his Tamil New Year release ‘Theri’, which hit the screens on Thursday (April 14).

“Thanks Lot Dear Friends… For the Overwhelming Response for #Theri Happyy….ஆதரவளித்த நல் உள்ளங்களுக்கு நன்றி”, posted the ‘Ilaya Thalapathi’ on his social media page.

A police story, ‘Theri’ directed by Atlee and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu received great response from Vijay fans, despite mixed reviews the movie managed to get. Meanwhile after making huge collection in its first two days of release, 'Theri' is expected to collect much more in the weekend that is today and tomorrow.

Samantha and Amy Jackson are the heroines of ‘Theri’, which marked the acting debut of veteran director Mahendran. G V Prakash Kumar has scored the music (this is his 50th movie album), while cinematography is by George C William.

Meanwhile, Vijay is gearing up to start shooting for his 60th movie in a few weeks. Directed by Bharathan, the film will have Keerthi Suresh as heroine. The pooja was held recently.
