This is the second big wedding in Tamil cinema this New Year. Days after Navya Nair tied the knot to Santosh Menon, a top level executive in a Mumbai-based company, ‘Ganja’ Karuppu on Wednesday entered wedlock with Sangeetha, a physiotherapist.

The marriage ceremony took place at Kannudaiya Nayagi Amman Temple in Nattarasankottai. An elated ‘Ganja’ Karuppu said, “I am happy that my life partner is from medical profession. I need all your blessings and wishes.”

The wedding ceremony was attended by friends and relatives of the comedian, apart from select invitees from film industry. A grand reception is being planned, circles close to ‘Ganja’ Karuppu say.

Promoted by directors Bala and Ameer in Tamil cinema, Karuppu has constructed a house in the name of his mentors. “I can’t pay them back. This is my way of honouring them,” he says. He would start his marriage life at the new home, it is said.
