Rishibala Naval, more popularly known as Simran is an actress who ruled the roost in the last 90s. Known for her figure that made men go weak in their knees and her acting prowess across all languages, Simran settled into a life of domesticity with Deepak Bagga, a Mumbai based airlines professional. Although she broke a million hearts and side-stepped the arc lights, the audiences never forgot the lady who gave them sensational hits like Kannathil Muthamittal.
Such talent and passion can never be wasted, and Simran has moved back to namma Chennai, with bag, baggage and Bagga in tow. “I miss Chennai and its warmth,” she says, adding, “I didn’t know how to react seeing my friends after a long hiatus. It’s really heartwarming”. The Punjabi beauty says that she is yearning to make a comeback in showbiz and that she has finally taken a call to shift to Chennai, because this is the place that catapulted her to fame.
Simran along with her husband and son Adheep have formally moved into their plush bungalow, complete with a spa, gym and swimming pool in Uthandi on ECR on Diwali day. “I had purchased the land in Utthandi a few years back where the present construction is going on. We were shuttling between Mumbai and Chennai and had taken a rented flat in the city to supervise the construction. The house and office premises are being built but they are yet to be completed. Since Diwali was an auspicious day, we moved to our new bungalow,” she explains. Her five year old son Adheep it seems has taken to his new peers at Billabong High International School well.
Taking cue from her seniors like Raadika and Kushbhoo, the actress has started a new production house named Arigel Movies Pvt Ltd and has several plans up her sleeves for television and movie production. “Talks are on with several top people in the industry. Soon, I will announce my projects once I sign the contracts,” she discloses. Nurturning ambitions to deliver blockbusters again, she says, “I have been hearing scripts for the last few months and I am keen to make a comeback.”
