There is not only a change in the Tamilnadu politics but also in Tamil cinema too. Just within one day after Rama Narayanan resigned from the President post of The Tamil Film Producers Council, Vijay's father and director S A Chandrasekhar was elected as the new President.

The Producers Council has released a press statement stating that this decision was made by all the members after have an emergency meeting. Later director and President of Tamil Film Producers Council, was greeted by all the members and other office-bearers of the association.

After the poll results which clearly specified that AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalitha is the next Chief Minister for the state, both Vijay and S A Chandrasekhar has wished her by calling. It is well known that Vijay has stood in support of Jayalalitha and his father too campaigned for the party.
