The latest on Ajith's next is that he has given bulk dates to AM Rathnam and his Sri Surya Movies. So after wrapping up Billa 2, he will begin work on a film for this production house.

It has been said that Ajith's next after Billa 2 will be a remake of the Telugu film Dookudu. Mahesh Babu and Samantha were in this film directed by Srinu Vytla. Earlier it was reported that Vishnu Vardhan will be a part of this project but now it has been confirmed that it will be Jayam Raja who is currently directing Vijay in Velayudham will be directing Ajith.
