Reality dance and singing shows have now become the order of the day on almost all leading Television channels.
The viewers seemingly find them interesting as these programmes throw up an interesting list of talented youngsters who even get a chance to sing and dance in films made by Kollywood.

However, not many aspiring directors and toiling assistant directors get a chance to show their mettle on small-screen.  A programme titled Naalaiya Iyakkunar beamed on a popular television channel (Kalaingar TV) , though, has come as a boon to many young film-makers.  Taking cue from this channel, many other channels have also started beaming such programmes during prime time.

One such short-film that was selected as the best in the above-said programme was Kaadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi (KSE).  The short-film caught the attention of noted cinematographer Nirav Shah who thought up the idea of making it into a feature film spanning two-and-a-half hours.  Nirav narrated the script to Siddharth who not only agreed to star in the film but also said that he would also be co-producing the film.

With debutant director Balaji calling the shots, Shah has now completed the shooting of the film which has Amala Paul opposite Siddharth.  KES, a romantic film, is likely to be released on Valentine’s Day (14th February).  The film has music by Thaman and is produced jointly by Shah and Siddharth.
