The South Indian Film Artists' Association has donated a sum of Rs. 5 Lakh towards the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Relief Fund to help the Thane Cyclone hit people.

Sarathkumar, actor-politician and the President of Nadigar Sangam, on Thursday met the Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and handed over the cheque for Rs. 5 Lakh on behalf the members of the Sangam.

Sarathkumar also handed over a cheque for Rs. 15 Lakhs on his personal behalf. Actor Vijay recently visited the cyclone hit areas and distributed food and other essential items to the people of Cuddalore. Actor-director Thangar Bachan, who comes from the district of Cuddalore has been doing a lot to the people of the district staying their in the district since the day the cyclone hit the areas.

Many individuals and organizations have been donating big sum towards the relief of the cyclone victims giving heed to the appeal of the state Chief Minister to donate liberally to the welfare of the victims of the cyclone. However, there has been a talk that the biggies of Tamil industry including the big actors, actresses and producers who are earning in crores have not given even an eye towards the victims. Will they do something for the people who are responsible for their big earning and comfortable living?
