No movie shows on Feb 23rd across the Country!

In protest against the proposed service tax that is levied by the Central Government the Film Federation of India has announced one day strike on February 23rd.
All the cinema halls in the country will close the shutters on this day and will show no show for a day.

Announcing this the Producers' Council President S A Chandrasekar said, "The Central Government proposal of levying 10.3 % service tax on film productions will result in the rise in the cost of production and affect the growth and prospects of Film industry in the country. To protest against this proposal All India Film Federation is planning to go for a strike on the 23rd of this month."
Already the State Government levies Entertainment tax – 30% in cities and 20% in towns and villages – on films in Tamil Nadu.
