The old Theyagaraja theatre on LB Road has undergone a complete makeover after recently joining the SPI Cinemas roster.
The previously one screen building will be launched in its new avatar as S2 Cinemas on Friday, August 31st. The stand alone complex will house two screens with a total capacity of 810 seats.

SPI Cinemas, the team behind Sathyam and Escape, recently launched its new brand, S2 Cinemas with a 5 screen multiplex at Spectrum Mall, Perambur. The Thiruvanmayur location will be the second in the city for S2 and will mirror the design and services of S2 Perambur. SPI Cinemas is in the forefront of media technology and is the first exhibitor in India to introduce digital projectors under the brand RDX (Real Digital Experience).
