After playing the second lead in the Telugu-Tamil bilingual Rachcha, starring Ram Charan and Tamannaah, Ajmal is all set to star in the lead in his next Telugu film.

He says, “I will begin shooting for National Award-winning director Vamsy’s next from January 26. It will be a pucca rom-com, in Vamsy sir’s trademark style. We will be shooting the film across Hyderabad and Rajahmundry.”

The yet-to-be-titled film features five newcomers opposite Ajmal. He adds, “It’s an interesting plot, and I can’t wait to begin work on it. Chakri has already composed the tracks for the film, and they have come out very well.”

Interestingly, the producer of the film conducted a poll in colleges in Hyderabad to decide which actor they would like to see in his film.

“And I got the maximum number of votes,” smiles Ajmal, “College students had to choose from among upcoming actors, and I was selected after a poll! It feels great to know I’ve made a mark in Tollywood as well.”
