Various Muslim organisation in Chennai has demanded a ban on the release of Kamal Haasan's long-awaited Vishwaroopam, which they think will affect the social harmony. Top personalities from various parties met the City Police Commissioner S George on Tuesday demanding that the screening of the movie be banned. The film, which is made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, is all set to hit screens on Jan 25 in 500 screens across TN. The film also stars Rahul Bose, Shekar Kapur, Pooja Kumar and Andreah in important roles. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is the music director.

Kamal Haasan’s spy thriller “still under review” by UAE censor board

Kamal Haasan’s ambitious Tamil-language spy thriller Vishwaroopam will not release in the UAE on Thursday as scheduled. The film is still under review, an official at the National Media Council told tabloid!.

“We are yet to give our verdict on it. It touches upon sensitive subjects like Osama Bin Laden and Muslim groups. There are bombings and more killings. We need to review it very carefully,” said Juma Obaid Al Leem, director of the Media Content Tracking Department at the Council. His team is scheduled to review the film again on Sunday.
