Dhanush's 'Pattas' sets new record on TV Premiere
After the critically acclaimed blockbuster movie 'Asuran', Dhanush was last seen on gangster-drama movie 'Pattas' was released on January, 15, 2020. Pattas - a commercial action potboiler got premiered on Sun TV on May 1 and has brought in a huge record, becoming the highest ever viewed film for the actor on the small screen, became the highest premiere impression ever for a Dhanush film.

The film has brought in 1,31,49,000 impressions for its premiere, and that is a big number, though the movie had already come online on OTT platform Amazon Prime. Sources say that due to the lockdown, a large number of audiences are glued to TV channels, and hence, Pattas registered a massive impression. Produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, the film earned a decent profit for all buyers associated and declared a hit at the box office.

Sathya Jyothi's previous film Viswasam starring Ajith Kumar earned 18.2 million impressions in 2019. Also, their iconic blockbuster Baasha has set a record on Sun TV. Producer TG Thiyagarajan of Sathya Jothi films put out a happy statement, saying “Our production house has always kept ‘Family Entertainer’ as the top preference despite what genre or premise the films belong to. Entertaining universal audiences has been our motto and to see that people love our content instills more enthusiasm, to proceed ahead and come up with such good movies. Moreover, Dhanush’s performance in the film in dual roles happens to be one of the highlighting traits in grabbing everyone’s attention. I thank the entire cast and crew of Pattas for gifting us with yet another successful feat.”

Pattas marks the second collaboration between Durai Senthilkumar and actor Dhanush after Kodi, which was released in 2016, featuring double roles by the actor as well. The film also stars Sneha and Mehreen Pirzada in pivotal roles. The which movie is based on the life of a Tamil martial artist, Adimurai, saw Dhanush play a dual role - the father's role paired with Actress Sneha, and the son's role was paired with Mehreen Pirzada.
