Pa Ranjith, who had apprenticed under director Venkat Prabhu, is wielding the megaphone for Atta Kathi. The director has said that this film deals with the lives of youngsters living in the suburbs, their ambition to get into the film industry, their love life, etc.
The film stars Dinesh who is currently acting in a film titled Thasaiyinai Theechudum and will mark the acting debut of the Bangalore-based Shwetha. Kabilan and Thamizhvanan have penned the lyrics for Atta Kathi and newbie Santhosh, who was the keyboard player in AR Rahman's team, is the music director.

‘Attakatthi’ is gonna be yet another film about the lifestyle of people residing in the outskirts of Chennai. Produced by Thirukumaran Entertainment, the film marks the debut directorial of P Ranjith, who has earlier worked as co-director with Venkat Prabhu. Apart from wielding megaphone for the film, he is handling story, screenplay and dialogues for the film.

Newcomer Dinesh plays the lead role while Bangalore based Swetha will star opposite him as his love interest. The highlighting factor about is film is gonna be that the makers are in pursuit of twin sisters around the age of 18 and 21.

Ramalingam, a former associate of Rajeevan will handle art direction and Santhosh, keyboard player of A R Rahman makes his debut as a music director.
