'I have equal role with Kajal' says Amala Paul

While Amala Paul is busy shooting for her films in Telugu and Tamil, reports suggested that she was angry that her role in the Telugu flick Naayak, starring Ram Charan, Kajal Aggarwal and her, had been chopped.

Dismissing these reports as rubbish, she says, “Kajal and I had equal roles in Naayak. Charan has a dual role in the film and what was narrated to me was what was finally shot.”

Ask her why she wasn’t present during the promotions of Naayak and Amala explains, “I was busy shooting for my other films. So, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to be present during neither the movie’s release nor the promotions post the release. I was shooting in Thailand, about seven to eight hours away from Bangkok. But before the movie released, I ensured I was there for the promotions.”

She adds, “Naayak is a hit and everyone says I did a very good job, especially in the Subalekha… song and that’s a big honour. I am really happy with the film.” As for talk about her role now, the actress says light-heartedly, “This movie is a commercial one and may be the audience wanted to see me present right through the film and were disappointed that I wasn’t!”

Amala signs off saying she’s excited as she’ll be in Spain in February and March. “I’ll be shooting for Thalaivaa first and then, Iddarammayilatho with Allu Arjun. By the time Allu Arjun and the crew come, I’ll be a local Spain girl and I’ll be the one taking everyone around,” she laughs.
