Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan has agreed to be part of the 7th edition of Vijay awards scheduled to present in Chennai on May 11th, Saturday. Officials have also invited Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan and other celebrities to this event.

"SRK agreed to be part of the award function after a representative from Star Vijay team flew down to Mumbai Wednesday and invited him personally," spokesperson of the awards team said. The award ceremony will honor the best performances under different categories in Tamil cinema for the year 2012.

SRK will hand over some awards to the winners and, according to a source, the Hindi film superstar will also get an award. It is being said that Shah Rukh has taken this opportunity to promote his upcoming film "Chennai Express", which was shot majorly in and around Tamil Nadu.
