One of the traditions of a Superstar Rajinikanth movie over the years is that his introduction song in the film should be sung by legendary singer SP Balasubramanian. Now this sentiment continues in Superstar Rajinikanth’s Lingaa too.

His next movie Lingaa is no exception as Singer SPB has recently recorded the intro song for superstar under the baton of AR Rahman. Lyricist Vairamuthu has written the song.

SPB posted in his Facebook “Dear well-wishers and Music lovers, in the recent past, wherever I was, travelling or in public functions, particularly in Tamilnadu, the only question I was asked was “Did you sing for Rajinikanth’s “LINGAA”?

They all want the Super star’s intro song to be sung by me. Yes Sir, I just concluded the recording session of THAT song you all expect me to sing. Beautiful number by Rahman, penned by Sri Vairamuthu. For obvious reasons, I am not supposed to give any more details at this time. I can only say, Rajini’s fans will not be disappointed. Worth the wait”.

The news has made all the Superstar fans very happy as they are expecting a complete entertainer from the Superstar in Lingaa.

As per our sources, AR Rahman and his team took extra care to make sure that the track impress Rajinikanth's huge mass fan following. The song has come out well, the team believes.

Meanwhile, Lingaa completed a long 42 days non-stop schedule that started in Karnataka and ended in Hyderabad's RFC yesterday. The latest schedule of shooting was started in Karnataka and the team filmed key portions in and around Shimoga. The concluding climax portion was filmed at Ramoji Film City. However, the introductory song and two other songs are yet to be shot. While one track will be filmed in Chennai, the remaining two will be shot in the beautiful locations in the Europe.

KS Ravikumar is directing this movie. This film stars Anushka, Sonakshi Sinha, Santhanam, Jagapathi Babu, Radha Ravi, Karunakaran and others in the key roles.
