Kamal's 'Uttama Villain' clears censor with 'U' releasing on May 1st

Kamal Haasan Starrer Uttama Villain which was postponed couple of times for many reasons, finally the release date for the film is officially announced.

The Thirrupathi Brothers produced Uttama Villain gets a clean 'U' certificate and this ought to silence all those creating suspicion about Uttama Villain's take on Hindu Gods and the movie is all set to release on May 1st, 2015 ( Labour’s Day )

It is directed by Ramesh Aravind and the film has Pooja Kumar, Andrea, K Balachander, K Viswanath, Jayaram, Parvathy and Urvashi as co-artists.

It is known that, members of Viswa Hindu Parishadh have filed a complaint against the film, stating the “Iraniyan Nadagam” song about the disparaged conversation between Prahalad and Hiranyakashipu will hurt the sentiments of Hindus.

However, Madras High Court is yet to look into the matter. Audience have to wait a little for the final hearing.

Asking to ban a Kamal film has almost become a habit for certain quarters and such protests defy freedom of speech and the creative indulgence a director gets to enjoy. 'Uttama Villain is a film about an actor and anything more to it is just the artificial hype', clarified Kamal himself in a recent press meet.
