Director Sunder C is gearing up to get his Aranmanai 2 on to the floors. The news from reliable sources is that the shooting will commence from June 15th and the director has firmed up his star cast.

Latest on Aranmanai 2 is that Poonam Bajwa joins the cast of the flick. Her role is said to be really important. Earlier there had been rumour that Samantha and Kajal Aggarwal were approached for one of the leads.

A source close to the team confirms the news, saying, "After signing on Siddharth, Trisha and Hansika, we are in talks with Poonam Bajwa, who will play an important role in the film. However, we cannot reveal any more details now."

The source also dismissed the news of Samantha and Kajal Aggarwal being approached as baseless rumours. Interestingly, Trisha is already working on a film titled Bhogi with Poonam Bajwa, and now, if all goes well, she will again work with her in Aranmanai 2.​

While Siddharth, Trisha, Hansika and Poonam Bajwa have been signed up to play the lead roles, Soori will be chipping in to offer comic relief. It may be recalled that Santhanam played the comedian in Aranmanai but has not found a berth in the sequel for obvious reasons. Expectations on the sequel are building up; particularly with the impressive star cast that the director has managed to assemble.
