Dasavatharam is the last film in which the leading actress Asin had acted in 2007. Before this she had acted in films like M Kumaran S/o Mahalakshmi, Ghajini, Varalaru, Pokkiri and Sivakasi.

In 2008 Asin had acted in the Hindi remake of Ghajini. She had paired with Aamir Khan. She became a popular star in Bollywood after Ghajini became a super hit. After this she paired with Salman Khan in the Hindi film London Dreams. Because of this she turned down Tamil and Telugu film offers.

But London Dreams did not do well at the box office and because of this she did not get Hindi film offers as expected. Hence she has now decided to act in Tamil films. The hit Malayalam film Body Guard is being remade in Tamil now which has Vijay in the lead role. Siddhique is directing this film.


Asin is pairing with Vijay in this film. The shooting of the film is to commence in March. Talks are also going on with her to pair with Surya in the film to be directed by A R Murugadoss. Talks are also going with Asin to pair with Vijay in a film to be directed by Jayam Raja. Simbhu has also met Asin and requested to pair with him in the film Valiban.
