IN Entertainment (India) Limited (IN), the Hinduja Group initiative for Content Business, has reportedly acquired the Hindi remake rights of master film maker Gautham Menon's Tamil super hit Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya (Yemaya Chesave in Telugu), which was released worldwide in February and is still running successfully.
Jointly produced by INE and Photon Kathaas, the Hindi remake will be directed by Gautham Menon himself and will have music by A.R. Rahman, who scored music for the original. Though the lead star cast for the Hindi remake is yet to be finalized, it is said that Gautham Menon has chosen Trisha as heroine in the Hindi version!
If this happens, it will be the second Bollywood film by Trisha, who is currently acting in Khatta Meetha opposite Akshay Kumar. Sources also say that the director wants Ranbhir Kapoor to play the hero.
A romantic-musical, Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya is about a young, aspiring filmmaker who falls in love with his neighbour, a mathematics graduate. Against all odds, he must convince the girl to marry him and also convince his parents along with pursuing his dreams of becoming a film maker.
