Kollywood's master filmmaker Gautham Menon's super hit police story Kaakha Kaakha (2003), which was remade in Telugu as Gharshana with Venkatesh and Asin in the lead roles, will be remake in Kannada with Chiranjeevi Sarja as the hero. There are also reports that Ramya will play his love interest. Film-maker A. Ganesh has bought the remake rights, while director Madesh of Raam and Gaja fame will direct the Kannada version.
“Suriya was fab in KK. His physique lent his character authenticity. Chiranjeevi has a similar bod, and we liked his action scenes in Vaayuputra. As for Jyotika’s role, it needed someone with experience to handle it. So we zeroed in on Ramya,” Ganesh said.
