We all know that popular Tamil-Telugu hero Suriya, who was to play a commando in Army office-turned-filmmaker Major Ravi's forthcoming trilingual Kandahar to be made simultaneously in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu with Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Mohanlal in the lead, has backed out from the project recently since he had no free dates.
The makers have been on the lookout for a saleable action hero in India to replace Suriya for the last couple of weeks and according to latest reports, Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has agreed to do the role. Notably, Suniel Shetty is not new to Malayalam films. Although in a cameo, he was seen in Priyadarshan film Kakkakuyil (2001).
Amitabh Bachchan has already confirmed his participation in this flick. Meanwhile, there are rumours that Action King Arjun may play an important role in Kandahar, which is about Kandahar Indian Airlines flight hijack incident which rattled the nation in 1999. The movie will be shot in Kerala, Delhi and Nepal.
