Naartha Malai Muthu Mariamman temple festival is a famous one in Tamil Nadu. The temple is situated in Pudukkottai District. Every year more than 15 Lakhs of devotees from 5 or 6 villages congregate to celebrate this festival. This festival features in the film Thambikkottai. R Ammu Ramesh is directing this film. As per the sequence, hero Narain is in search of his lover Poonam Bajwa. Poonam Bajwa was stuck up in the crowds who had come to witness the shooting. She got suffocated because of the stampede and swooned down.
The crew immediately formed a security ring and saved her. The doctor was brought to the shooting spot. She was given treatment. The shooting got delayed because of this. The shooting commenced after clearing the crowd.
