Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) sitting president Rama Narayanan will contest the Producers’ Council elections for the third time in a row. He has been the president for the past two terms and many of the members want him to continue as their leader. There is a widespread opinion prevailing in Kollywood that Rama Narayanan is instrumental in bringing in various changes to the film industry and is accessible to all to solve problems without any bias and friendly in nature.
However, an election has to be conducted for the coveted post once in two years as per the rules of the TFPC. As a result, the important body of Tamil film industry is getting ready for polls next month.
Sources say a selection is currently going on for other nominations. “Around 700 members are eligible to exercise franchise. If no one comes forward to contest opposite Rama Narayanan, he will be elected unopposed for the post,” they add.
Meanwhile, there are rumors doing rounds that Kushboo who entered politics recently may contest the elections.
