Oscar winner Resul Pookutty who made India proud by winning the Oscar for his sound effort in 'Slumdog Millionaire', has been invited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to join it as voting members.
The new members of the committee will be inducted at a reception at Fairbanks Center for Motion Picture Study in Beverly Hills in September this year.
About 135 artists and executives have been invited by the Academy.
"The work of these individuals has been appreciated by moviegoers all around the world. The Academy is proud to invite each and every one of them," said Academy president Tom Sherak. "It's a great honour to be nominated as a voting member by the board of governors," Pookutty said.
