Captain Cine Creations who produced the films Narasimha, Sudesi, Vallarasu, Thennavan and Arasangam which had Vijayakanth in the lead role is now producing a high budgeted film titled Virudhagiri. Vijayakanth for the first time is directing this film which is being produced by L K Satish.
Vijayakanth has written the story, screenplay and dialogues is also doing the lead role. The fighting and car chasing scenes were shot in Bangkok for fifteen days. The scene where Vijayakanth fights with the stunt men from Bangkok was shot in an exhilarating way. The sequences were shot at the cost of Rs 1 Crore. Madhuri Idaki from Bangalore is the heroine of this film.
An innovative set was erected to shoot a dance sequence that featured Meenakshi Dixit. Shankar from Mumbai is doing the villain role. Arun Pandian, Mansoor Ali Khan, Peeli Sivam, Kalai Rani, Uma Padmanabhan, Shanmugarajan and comedy actor Shams are also starring in this film.
Sundar C Babu has composed the music for the lyrics penned by Vaali, Na Muthukumar, Yugabharathy and Snegan. Rocky Rakesh is in charge of stunts. Shivashankar is handling the choreography. Velumani has written the fiery dialogues. Boopathy is handling the camera. The next schedule shooting is to take place in Malaysia. Vijayakanth and cinematographer Boopathy have gone to scout locations in Malaysia.
