Hits & Misses of filmmakers
Gowtham Menon, Silambarasan
Starting off with Gowtham Menon, the ace filmmaker promised about directing 49th film of Ajith Kumar that was produced by Sivaji Productions. With the time running far ahead from the prescribed deadlines, the producers had no other options of opting for another filmmaker. Instantaneously, Dayanidhi Azhagiri of Cloud Nine Productions gathered the same team again for Ajith Kumar's 50th film, which was supposed to take off in September. And again, it was a time to badly disappoint the fans of Gowtham Menon and Ajith Kumar as they parted way due to unknown reasons.
Gowtham's journey doesn't here as he kept preparing himself for the Hindi remake of 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya' and then a romantic entertainer with Rana Daggubati. With both Gowtham and Rana busily discussing the project today herein Chennai, let's hope they come up with favorable results.
Hits & Misses of filmmakers
Selvaraghavan
Naturally, Rana was supposed to ink deal with Selvaraghavan for a period film set in backdrops of 5th century. 'We haven't dropped the project, but postponed' – you can hear both Rana and Selva uttering the same words. So what happened to Selvaraghavan's half-done project with Vikram in lead role? The film started off well with the first schedule completed in Ladakh.
And then, Vikram's assurance of signing 'Yaavarum Nalam' fame Vikram Kumar for a sci-fi thriller titled '24' came to a halt and the actor got himself ready for a commercial entertainer title 'Vedi'. The chain of reaction continues with Boopathy Pandian as Lingusamy signed him for his production featuring Silambarasan in lead role. Not to forget that Lingusamy later confirmed that he'll be directing Simbhu under his home banner.
Silambarasan was prone to lots of disappoints with Manirathnam not favoring him to be involved in his project (plans to shoot only Hindi version with Ranbir Kapoor in lead role) and K.V. Anand's 'Ko' wasn't an exception as Jeeva has replaced him now.
And at the end now, it's time for these personalities to keep themselves fixed to a project so that their diehard buffs aren't anymore letdown.
