Pandiraj: Expected and unexpected

"Many told us that 'Pasanga' would win National Award. But we never expected that the film would bag three awards. I am on cloud nine," says Pandiraj, the proud director of the movie produced by Sasikumar.
At the 57th National Film Awards announced on Wednesday, 'Pasanga' was adjudged the Best Film in a regional category, its director Pandiraj got the Best Dialogue Writer award and lead actors Sriram and Kishore shared the Best Child Artiste Award.
"It gives me immense happiness that Kishore and Sriram have been selected for the honour. Like seasoned artistes, they gave their best to the film. It's because of teamwork my maiden venture has become the Best Film in regional category," he said.
On bagging the Best Dialogue Writer award, he said, "I really took pains to pen dialogues. Especially for a particular scene in which the fathers of the two boys speak near a temple tank. Happy that the writer in me has been recognised." Thanking producer Sasikumar, Pandiraj said: "I am really thrilled. Thanks to Sasi Sir who had faith in me. I am indebted to him a lot. But for him, hardly any producer would have come forward to produce such a film."
