A different sort of negative role indeed: Madhavan has completely stepped out of his innocuous looks in '3 Idiots' and has performed a dark-negative shaded character in 'Jhootha Hi Sahi'. The actor performs the role of a Muslim named Kabir, who desolated his girlfriend (played by Paki) and goes around with another girl. In later point of time, he gets back into the scene resulting in a twist.

It is worth mentioning that Madhavan plays a grey-toned characterization in Lingusamy's 'Vettai'. Maybe, it was a preparing shot for Maddy so as to get into the skin. Previously Madhavan had played anti-hero role in Manirathnam's 'Aayutha Ezhuthu', which happened to be a turning point in his career. In fact, one of his previous Hindi films 'Teen Patti' had him playing similar negative role opposite Amitabh Bachchan, who at last reforms.

The actor has couple of new Hindi projects which would be released shortly (Tanu Weds Manu and Sunglasses).
