Following the path of her contemporaries Suhasini and Revathi, versatile actress Rohini, known for her roles in Malayalam and Tamil films during the 1980s and ’90s, is turning director with a Tamil film.

Her debut directorial venture has been titled Pambaram. According to reports, the actress has completed the script. Shooting will start soon.

Pambaram is the story of the life of a 13 year old boy who goes to Mumbai from a remote village to earn his living. The film will have new faces in the main roles and be shot near Kanchipuram and Mumbai.
