Kamal Haasan’s full length Malayalam film in 2011
Ulakanayakan Kamal Haasan was in Kochi on Sunday (December 19) to promote his next Tamil film Manmadhan Ambu (Manmadha Banam in Telugu), releasing on December 23.
Talking at a press meet as a part of the promotion, the actor expressed a desire to do a full length Malayalam film next year. ‘I’m open to the idea of doing a film in Malayalam if I get a good script and a producer,’ he said.
Producer Gokulam Gopalan, who is distributing Manmadhan Ambu in Kerala, was also on stage with Kamal and immediately said that he is ready to produce the film. He also added that he is not worried about the budget. According to sources, Kamal and Gokulam Gopalan have started the search for a good script.
Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan made it clear that the controversial song ‘Kannodu Kannai Kalandhal’ in Manmadhan Ambu will not be removed from the film. Earlier, the Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) had sent a notice to producers, asking them to delete the song as it it hurts the sentiments of Hindus. Kamal, who has written the lyrics and sung it with Trisha, said: ‘I do not think that the song offends Hindu sentiments. The Censor Board has passed the film with a ‘U’ certificate. The song will not be deleted.’
