Arya replaces Vikram in Urumi
Popular Tamil actor Arya will appear in a cameo role in cinematographer-turned-film maker Santosh Sivan’s bilingual Urumi, starring young superstar Prithviraj in the lead. Earlier, it was rumoured that Tamil superstar Vikram would do the comeo. But the superstar is said to have walked out of the project due to date clashes. Arya would work for three days for Urumi, his first Malayalam film. The first schedule of the film has been recently completed in Maharashtra and the second schedule is currently on at Udupi and Mangalore.
Urumi is based on the attempted murder of Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama, who arrived in Kappad near Calicut in 1498. Starring pretty Genelia as the heroine, it is produced by the Santosh Sivan-Prithviraj duo’s new production company August Cinema in Malayalam, Tamil and English.
