Bolstered by the success of his latest film ‘Kaavalan’ opposite Asin and directed by Siddique, Vijay is back in reckoning in Tamil films and looks a much-relieved actor after his string of failures starting with ‘Aadhi’ and culminating in ‘Suraa’ during the past 4-5 years.

The actor, who has been making known his political ‘aspirations’ in an ambiguous manner from time to time, has announced that he would be protesting along with his fans in a ‘massive way’ on the 22nd of this month at Nagapattinam to protest against the on-going brutal attacks by the Sri Lankan navy against the Indian (Tamilian) fishermen inside Indian coastal limits.

The actor’s popularity was never in doubt, as has been proved by the huge turnout of fans and on-lookers at the sets of his Velayudham, which is currently being shot in and around Pollachi. Whenever Vijay sits during breaks, he is egged on by his fans to relentless ‘take on his enemies’ and ‘finish them off’.

Observers say that Vijay’s decision to protest for the sake of fishermen could be a calculated ploy to win over the masses as it would be an asset to him as and when he floats his own political outfit in a few years from now. He is said to be guided and led in his political manoeuvres by his father and director S.A. Chandrasekaran.
