Actor Prithviraj and actress Meera Jasmine were issued summons by the Kerala court. The court has asked to appear before the justice on May 16th, 2011.
The cheating case was filed by producer K Mohandas of Karimbil Films. In the plea the producer claimed that both Meera Jasmine and actor Prithviraj was not appearing for the shoot of the film in spite of paying them an advance of Rs five lakh each. Both the stars have accepted to do a film which is titled Swapnamalika in Malayalam nearly four years ago. However they have violated the contract by not attending the films shoot. This has irked the producers and they finally approached the court.
Prithviraj and Meera Jasmine were sent legal notice for many times but both of them failed to appear the court. The case was filed under Section 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
