Prashanth turned very busy these days with his film Ponnar Shankar as he himself is taking special care in each every aspect of the film. Prashanth birthday has happen recently but he was unable to celebrate the birthday as he is busy with the films release date.

Ponnar Shankar is given U certificate and now the film got the gate pass for the big screens. Ponnar Shankar is written by Kalaignar and is based on the life history of two twin brothers Ponnar and Shankar of the Kongu Nadu region. Divya Parameswaran and Pooja Chopra are the female leads in this magnum opus. Apart from them Sneha, Khushboo, Napoleon, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Vadivelu, Seetha, Bhanu, Riyaz Khan and others play the supporting cast.

Prashanth said to a newspaper "It's going to be a double bonanza for me as I am going to celebrate my birthday on the day the film releases".

Ilayaraja has scored the music and the audio was launched by Kalaignar very recently. Ponnar Shankar is scheduled to hit the screens on April 15, depending on the availability of screens.
