Ramya joins Youth Congress

Ramya joins Youth Congress Popular South Indian actress Ramya aka Divya Spandana has entered into Karnataka state politics by formally joining the Youth Congress on Monday. The actress wrote on a social networking website on Monday evening: 'Became a member of the Congress party today, do you want to as well.' 'Right now I don't have any intention to enter active politics. I have joined the Youth Congress because it is the party of youth,' the actress told a leading newspaper. Asked whether she planned to join politics, she said: 'There was no planning as such. I thought there was no point in cribbing about corruption and other issues. If a person like Anna Hazare at the age of 78 years can fight against corruption, we the youth should be in the forefront. I thought the best way was to join politics.' Meanwhile, insiders in the party said it was a calculated move to join the Youth Congress prior to Rahul Gandhi's visit to Bengaluru. The youth icon, scheduled to visit the city on April 21, is expected to address members of the party.
