Urumi the magnum opus of Ace cinematographer-director Santosh Sivan's has been released yesterday in Kerala and rest of the states in Malayalam.

The film has grabbed lot of attention as is being made in Tamil, Hindi and English. The Thiruvananthapuram Regional Censors officials have certified the film with clean ‘U’ without a single cut. Urumi has big stars in the lead roles like Prithviraj, Genelia, Vidya Balan, Tabu Nitya Menon Arya and Prabhu Deva.

Urumi is titled as Pathinaindham Nootrandu Uraivaal in Tamil while the English version is titled as Vasco Da Gama. Urumi stands high on visuals, technical values and performance of the leads stars. The story revolves around the assassination of Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama when he comes to Kerala. Deepak Dev has given nine beautiful numbers to this historical epic.

Director Santhosh Sivan has arranged a special screening for ace director Mani Ratnam at Real Images in Chennai. Mani who saw the film showered all his praises on Santhosh for his tremendous job.

He called Santhosh and said "This is the perfect way of making a periodic film and it carries lots of good things".

Mani's SMS goes this way "Urumi is the magic of Santhosh Sivan, it's entertaining and the performances are very convincing.

Pathinaindham Nootrandu Uraivaal is yet to release.
