Former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s grandson, Arulnidhi is all set to hit the screens with the film Udhayan on 24 June (Friday). This is Arulnidhi's second outing after Vamsam.

Udhayan is a commercial entertainer which amalgamates action and comedy. The story is totally based on a city theme and will appeal all sections of audiences and especially the film goes well with youngsters. Arulnidhi plays the role of a bank officer while Pranitha will be seen as Arulnidhi's love interest in the film. Director Dharani's associate Chaplin has directed the film. Ashish Vidyarthi and Santhanam are playing vital roles in the film.

Legendary Saxophone player Kadri Gopalnath’s son, Manikanth Kadri has scored the music for this film. Shruthi Haasan has sung a song in this film.

S. D. Vijay Milton and Te. Kishore have done cinematography and editing respectively.
