They have continued their friendship and turned out to be good friends. In fact Ganesh has become a regular in Simbu's camp. He played the role of Simbu's uncle in Vaanam directed by Krish. Now he is all set to do a character in Osthi, the remake of Dabangg directed by Dharani. Ganesh is playing the role drunken father of Richa in Osthi which was played by Mahesh Manjerekar in the original. The scenes including Ganesh in drunken act and Simbu will form the comedy sequences in the film.

Director Dharani is currently altering the scenes of Ganesh and Simbu to suit the Tamil audiences. The shoot of the film is currently going on in Mysore and Silambarasan has given 35 days of call sheet for the first schedule of Osthi.

The technical team comprises of Gopinath for cinematography, V. T. Vijayan for editing, and Thaman for music while story and screenplay is done by Dileep Shukla.

Osthi is directed by Dharani while Ramesh and Mohan Apparao are producing the film under the banner of Balaji Real Media.
