Actor Karthi tied nuptial knot to Ranjani at 6.35 AM muhurat in the presence of his father Siva Kumar, mother Lakshmi, brother Surya, sister-in-law Jyothika and sister Brindha. It was glitzy event and the wedding witnessed family members attending in large numbers as the wedding reception is arranged in Chennai for his friends from the industry.

The grand wedding took place in a traditional manner in Codissia Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore where seating arrangements were made for around 2,500-odd guests. A whole range of delicious south Indian food was served as the wedding lunch to the guests. Other celebrities from Kollywood include Prabhu, K S Ravi Kumar, Bala, Lingusamy, Nandha, music director Shankar Ganesh, Radhika, Poornima, Nagma, singer Suchitra, etc.

On the other hand, director Selva Raghavan tied the nuptial knot to Gitanjali at 9.15 AM at Le Royal Meridian in Guindy in Chennai. This wedding was attended by AVM Saravanan, industrialist AVM Ramaswamy, Manirathnam, his wife Suhasini, cricketer Srikanth, etc.
