Velayudham shoot recently took place in Pollachi for some last minute patchwork of the film. The director of the film Jayam Raja has choosed Valla Gundapuram village situated near Pollachi as the shooting backdrop as it matched the script well.
The shooting spot selected by Raja happened to be the native of ace comedian Goundamani. Both Vijay and Jayam Raja have visited his house, where his mother lives. The team captured few portions of the film in this village and Goundamani's mother who is very hospitable to them allowed them to shoot inside her house. It was a pleasant experience for the entire team of Velayudham. The residents of the village were happy to see Vijay and they shared their precious moments with the entire cast and crew.
The duo spent a lot of time discussing with the villagers about their place and lifestyle.
