Walt Disney offers Rs. 2000 crores to buy UTV

Well, the news is out that Walt Disney, the American entertainment giant and one of the world’s leading entertainment company has offered to acquire Mumbai-based UTV Software Communications for a whooping Rs. 2000 crore!
Walt Disney, already owns 50.44% stake in UTV, and has offered Rs 1,000 per share to acquire the remaining 49.6% stake. If this deal takes place UTV’s Chief Executive, Ronnie Screwvala, will sell his shares to Walt Disney and will become one of its Managing Directors for the South Asian region.
Walt Disney gets the control of over the movies produced and distributed by UTV. Interestingly UTV's first deal in Tamil turned out to be successful with Deiva Thirumagal.
The upcoming films from UTV Motion Pictures are Lingusamy’s Vettai, Balaji Sakthivel directed Vazhakku Enn 18/9 and Prabhu Solomon directed Kumki.
Apart from them, UTV is also producing Jeeva's Mugamoodi.
