It's been a more than two busy years since Taapsee came to the industry, but the actress ensures she takes time out for family bonding on her birthday. "When I signed my first movie, I had decided that I will be with my family and friends in Delhi on my birthdays. Acting is a demanding profession, one where there's a chance of losing yourself. I was clear that I'd never let that happen. The first year, I was shooting for Vandhaan Vendraan and two Telugu films, but I managed to be in Delhi. This year, I was shooting for Mogudo," begins Taapsee.

She adds, "I don't believe in partying late and waking up the next morning with a hangover. Instead, I'd spend the day with my family and friends."

Taapsee was one of the initial choices for K V Anand's Maatraan with Suriya. Ask her if she regrets missing the opportunity and she shoots back, "This is not the last film that Anand sir or Suriya will be doing. They have a long career ahead of them. I am sure I will definitely pair up with Suriya and act in Anand sir's direction soon. And anyway, it's common practice in the industry to have a list of possible actresses who would suit the role. I have been signed up many times and at others, I have missed the opportunity as well. This is no big deal!"

As for her birthday wish, she says, "Touchwood, in a span of two years, I've done almost seven films in the three south Indian languages. I will start my Bollywood debut, the remake of Chashme Baddoor, sometime from October as well. I just want to be busy in the industry for as long as I want!"
