Kamal becomes Tippu Sultan for a bi-lingual Tippuvum Unniaarchayum!

Universal star Kamal Haasan is all set to play the legendary warrior king of Mysore Tippu Sultan in a bi-lingual in Tamil and Malayalam titled Tippuvum Unniaarchayum.

The film will centralize legendary characters such as Unniarcha, Chandu, Aromal Chekavar, sultan, Hyderali and Fathima Beevi. John Paul who is a noted Malayalam writer is penning the script for this historical epic while Vayalar Madhavan Kutty will be handling the direction department. The shoot of the film is going to start mostly during early next year as Kamal is busy with his prestigious film Vishwaroopam. The female lead and the rest of the cast are yet to be finalized.

Leading businessman and producer, Gokulam Gopalan is producing the film; he is also a very close friend of Kamal Haasan.

Producer Gopalan in a press conference said "I am planning to do a historical film which is tentatively titled as Tippuvum Unniaarchayum which is a based on the Tippu Sultan and warrior queen of North Malabar Unniarcha. Kamal Haasan has agreed to do this film and we have asked him to give a four months call sheet of the film. The other details and shooting plans are being worked out at present and the film starts rolling early next year."
