Bollywood diva Sameera Reddy plays the female lead while Poonam Kaur will reprise her role in the Tamil version too. The film is produced under Vishal’s home banner GK Film Corporation. Reportedly Sameera plays the role of a fun-loving college girl Paaro and will try her hand at comedy for the first time in this film.

"When I wanted to remake Souryam, I thought of only Prabhu Deva. I felt that only he can do justice to the script. We have changed the script according to the taste of Tamil audience. Duration-wise, Prabhu Deva has reduced 15 minutes and Vivek's character is a real treat," Vishal said in an interview to Galatta.com.

Music director Devi Sri Prasad and sexy siren Sophie Choudhary have made cameo appearances in this film. Vishal assured that the film is a mass entertainer which will be enjoyed by all. Vedi is for the masses with the right mix of action and sentiments. The song sequences have been shot in some never-seen-before locations. In the film, Vishal plays a righteous cop, Prabhakaran, who can bash goons single handedly.
