Since its announcement, there have been speculations galore about superstar Rajinikanth’s cameo in Shahrukh Khan’s ambitious superhero film RA.One.

Well King Khan has finally pulled off a stunt whichis bigger than all the stunts in his films put together – Rajinikanth has shot his cameo for RA.One today at Chennai. An ecstatic SRK posted a message on Twitter, ”Misconcepts, misunderstood. stressed & then rajini sir walks on sets & u know why God made films. Thanx Soundarya for making r dream com true.” He followed this with a sentimental tweet, “Ra.One completed today. Rajini sir blessed it. Have tears in my eyes of gratitude & only prayers & love for his whole family. u complete us sir.” With this coup, Shahrukh has ensured a huge opening for his film in South as well.

Superstar Rajini as Chitti in Ra.One

Seven months ago, Shah Rukh Khan asked the writers of his forthcoming film, RA.One to include a scene for Rajinikanth.

Unfortunately, it was around then that the Southern star fell ill. “I shot it with a duplicate thinking maybe I’ll keep it, maybe not. Then recently, I got the courage to contact him because I met his doctor in London, who told me he’s better. I’m a big fan, so I called him and said, ‘I’d really like you to do a part.’

He was very sweet and he said, ‘I’m still unwell for a month and want to rest’,” says Khan.

Four days ago, Khan received a call from Rajni’s daughter, with good news. “We’ve sent her the shot because we’re running short of time. They have a method where they shoot his face, as he may not be able to do the physical part of the sequence, but we’re still hoping. We might have Chitti in the film. If that happens, it’ll be really cool. RA.One will be complete if Rajni sir is part of it as Chitti,” says the excited actor, whose film releases on October 26.
