Mamta Mohandoss's mom character in a Malayalam film

Actress Mamta Mohandoss has been paired up opposite Arun Vijay in his upcoming film titled Thadaiyara Thakka. Despite her stylish looks and a figure-to-die for, Mamta has been unable to hit it off with the Tamil audience. Probably, Tamil audiences’ fascination for ‘fleshy’ actresses is not helping the cause for Mamta.

After debuting as Vishal’s heroine in director Karu Pazhaniyappan’s Sivappadhigaram a few years back, Mamta paired up opposite Madhavan for Guru Enn Aalu some time back. She also made a brief appearance in Rajini’s Kuselan. The actress was diagnosed with some serious illness and had to take a break from acting. Now that she has fully recovered, she is all set to bounce back into reckoning with Thadaiyara Thakka.

A leading actress in Malayalam films, Mamta has agreed to play a mother of two children in the upcoming Malayalam film Naanum Ende Familiyum directed by K.K. Rajiv. When even married actress hesitate to take on the role of an on-screen ‘mother’, it’s really appreciable that Mamta has decided to play the role at a time she is much in demand as a heroine in Mollywood.

When queried whether playing an on-screen mother would affect her chances of getting cast as heroine in future, Mamta says “I don’t think playing a mother in a film would ‘derail’ my image. Even in real life, I love children; I only felt that by playing a doting mother, I could identify more with my female fans. I’m paired opposite Jayaram in the film which looks into the problems of a working mother who also has to take care of the family. I play a doctor in the film.”
