Renowned director Mani Ratnam is getting ready with his next film that tells the story of the plight of the Tamil fishermen who live along the southern coastal areas of Tamil Nadu.
The director has already confirmed yesteryear hero ‘Navarasa Nayagan’ Karthik’s son Gautham as the hero of the film. But, the director is still deciding female lead of the film. It was earlier reported that Tulsi, daughter of yesteryear heroine actress Radha and sister of Karthiga (of ‘Ko’ fame), to be his heroine. But reports that came later said Kamal Hassan’s second daughter Akshara Kamal was going to be cast in the film. The latest is that Parthiepan’s daughter Keerthana is touted to be cast as the heroine of this big budget film. Incidentally, Keerthana was introduced to acting with Mani Ratnam’s emotional drama ‘Kannatthil Mutthamittal’ in 2002!
