Cinematographer Santhosh Sivan is the only person who has won numerous awards in India. He has directed a film titled Urumi in Malayalam and was released.
This film has been dubbed in Tamil. The Tamil audio CD of this film was released recently.

All the top brass of the Tamil film industry including Manirathnam, A R Murugadoss, actor Vijay, lyricist Vairamuthu, Aravindsamy and S J Suryah participated in this function and released the audio CD of this film. Three songs and two trailers were screened for the guests and media. Hari Charan and Swetha Menon sang a song of this film on the stage.

Manirathnam while speaking on this occasion said, "Santhosh Sivan is my close friend. He is like a magician. Whenever he meets me he will talk about 15 new things. Whenever he use to work with me, he use to act certain scenes and tell that it would be better in this way. Now he himself has become an actor. With his cinematography talent, he has made this enormous film in a small budget. This is not possible for anyone else except Santhosh Sivan"

A R Murugadoss while speaking said, "All the directors of the Tamil film industry will have the desire to work with Santhosh Sivan sir. Now I am very happy that desire has been fulfilled. I saw Urumi in Telugu in Hyderabad on the first day first show itself. Later on I saw this film in Malayalam and Tamil. Everyone should see this film."

Actor Vijay while speaking said, "So far I have not worked with Santhosh Sivan sir. For the first time I am going to work with him. The shooting of that film is going to commence soon. I convey my greetings to all the cast and crew of Urumi."
